Wong Foo Jeng is a Malaysian composer and pianist whose music incorporates elements of contemporary composition, improvisation, and electro-acoustics. He is a recipient of the New Chamber Ballet Commission, winner of the El Paso Original Music/New Ideas Competition, and a finalist of the American Prize in Composition.

Foo Jeng’s compositions have been featured various concert music, multi-disciplinary, and/or artistic events such as: “Four Ballets” (New Chamber Ballet 2023), “Yarn/Wire Institute Festival” (The DiMenna Center 2023), “sound:moves:us” (The Clark Institute 2022), “a thousand ways” (Ilham Gallery 2022), ArtsBasel (Virtual 2020), and the St Petersburg International New Music Festival (Russia 2019).

As a performer, he’s been featured as a pianist at National Sawdust (RASA Project 2023), OPERA America (Mayflower Arts Center 2023), BeComEnsemble (The DiMenna Center 2023), Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Center (Malaysian Jazz Piano Festival 2021), Time Is Art Festival (Virtual 2021), and the Borneo Jazz Festival (Virtual 2021).

He graduated the Manhattan School of Music with a Masters of Music in Composition, where he won the Giampaolo Bracali Award and Special Project Residency. He earned his Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance from Berklee College of Music.
